My particular niche in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine is prenatal diagnosis, but I do a little bit of everything. The special thing about maternal-fetal medicine here at Duke is that the group is really cohesive in terms of getting along really well, working well together and having a variety of interests within the division. In addition, Duke also has a lot of other subspecialties that we work closely with and which have a lot of interest in pregnancy, so we’re able to collaborate with them. In medical school, I had a great interest in women’s health and loved my OB/GYN rotation and residency. I very much admired the maternal fetal physicians in my residency program.
